AC Shadows Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Content
This update also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series earlier included a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
