Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for committing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
