Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
