Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
