From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
